I made the mistake of telling several people at work a couple weeks ago, right after the Grammy’s, that I had never heard Lorde’s “Royals.” Yes, NEVER.
I really don’t know how it happened. I mean, I used to have to listen to every song on the Billboard Charts as my job! So it’s insane to think that I would now be so removed from music/pop culture that I had somehow managed to never hear a song that everybody and their mother were talking about. But, somewhere along the line I just stopped listening to new music, and turned into what I can only describe as an 85-year-old man who likes to wear tweed suits, drink bourbon, and listen to classics from the 30’s and 40’s. (I sound pretty awesome). So while I can’t say that I’ll be able to pick wedding songs that all your friends will know and love, I can guarantee you that your grandparents will!
All kidding aside (well, kinda), this song has recently made my weekend playlist, and I think it would make a super sweet processional, first dance, father/daughter or mother/son song. Enjoy!
