We LOVE seeing what your wedding playlists look like, so it’s no surprise that we totally geeked out when we discovered that the data-driven website FiveThirtyEight had compiled a list of readers’ wedding songs and turned it into one awesomely giant wedding playlist.
The songs they selected are based on the most popular songs from wedding reception lists that readers sent in, and it’s really interesting to see the results. What they figured out is that while new songs are definitely rotated in, requests from certain family members along with the couple’s favorites means you see a lot of classics from the 1960’s, 1980’s, and early 2000s…decades when your grandparents, parents, and you were most likely in your late teens to early twenties. An age that seems to result in us finding our favorite music and listening to it still to this day.
You can see their Top 200 wedding playlist here.
Are you planning on playing any of these songs at your wedding?
