Wine and weddings are two of our favorite things, and we found a way for them to go even better together!
We recently came across PersonalWine.com while we were searching for mini champagne bottles, and went a little crazy when we figured out all the fun things we could do there. Aside from mini champagne bottles as wedding favors, we thought about how great it would be to use wine bottles for our Save the Dates or wedding invitations…even for our wedding party gifts. So we decided to test out all three, and seriously? The results are awesome.
So, how did the process work? When you go to PersonalWine.com there are several options you can choose from that are perfect for your wedding. From custom labels for wedding centerpieces and table numbers to wedding favors, bachelorette party, wedding shower decor and wedding party gifts, you can personalize any bottle you see. You can also simply choose to buy a bottle as is, since they have a broad selection of stellar wines at great prices (and their shipping costs are super low).
We focused on custom champagne glasses that could be great wedding favors (or used for the bride/groom on the wedding day), as well as custom Save the Date and wedding invitation wine bottles. Plus, we designed a mini champagne wedding favor (below) that we are currently obsessed with. These custom wine bottles are also PERFECT to use for your table numbers. If your venue allows for outside wine you can serve them as well, or if not they can be taken home by you or guests.
Once you select which type of bottle you want (red, white, champagne, mini, etc.) you can choose to add a custom label or engraving to it. Custom labels range from free for most wines, to $36 for a case of 24 mini prosecco bottles. Engraving is $15/bottle since the process is much more complex (and gorgeous as you’ll see below).
The design process for the custom label and engraving was relatively easy. They have a slew of templates you can choose from, or you can upload your own image and text to create your own. (Note: If you already have your own wine bottle, you can still use this service for custom labels. Pricing for 12 custom Bordeaux wine labels is $18). I actually had a ton of fun designing my own label for the mini champagne bottle wedding favors, and added my own text to two different templates for the Save the Date and wedding invites.
If you love the idea of a personal wine bottle for your Save the Date or wedding invitations, but have a larger guest list or a smaller budget, I think the mini wine bottles (or champagne) are a really great option for this, since buying in bulk would bring the price down to around $4.65/bottle for 120 bottles (once you add in the price of the custom label, not including tax + shipping). And who doesn’t want a wine wedding invite? They also have a No-Break and On-Time Guarantee, meaning you can rest assured your bottles will get to you (and your guests) on time.
Also, how sweet is this hand-crafted, etched wood box that I created for a Maid of Honor gift?! Fill it with your favorite bottle of wine or bubbly and a sweet card and your BFF has a gift she’ll hold onto forever. (Pssst. They also make great wedding gifts!)
If you’re looking for unique wedding favors, reception decor, or bridesmaid/groomsmen gifts, this is definitely the first place you should check out! Now, ahem, excuse us while we go and drink our wine. 🙂
