Average Base Cost: $18,000

Our average base cost for a wedding at 5226 Elm is calculated by figuring a 125-person guest list on a Saturday evening using a food/beverage price of $100/pp. Entertainment, flowers, additional decorations and rentals, transportation, and photography are not included. Price is rounded up to the nearest thousand. Gratuity and sales tax included.

Extras: Additional time is $300/hour before midnight and $600/hour after midnight.

Vendors: The venue has a preferred list of vendors for you to choose from.

Food/Beverage: You may choose your own caterer. The venue also allows hosts to purchase their own liquor through Liquor Source, which costs approximately $10/person for all drinks, ice and mixers.  Price per bartender is $180.

Size: Up to 250 guests. The Courtyard Room overlooking the Courtyard can accommodate up to 70 guests. The Studio can accommodate 150 seated banquet style with a dance floor.

How Will Grandma Get There? The best nearby hotels are in Uptown Houston, which is a 10 minute drive from the venue.  Options include the JW Marriott, Aloft and Hotel Indigo.

Party On! Events can go as late as you want as long as you are paying the hourly rate.

The Report: 

Referred to as fifty-two-twenty-six, this modern Houston wedding venue won the”Building of the Year” design award for Texas from the American Institute of Architects. The building features floor-to-ceiling glass windows and an inner-courtyard garden with a rose-covered walkway, koi-stocked meditation pool, and paths to a rock waterfall and swimming pool, enclosed with a  20 ft bamboo wall.

5226 Elm is a unique Houston wedding venue that offers interesting options for inside/outside space for a great price/value. I’m not 100% convinced the Koi pond was the best move for a narrow courtyard (can you imagine Grandma around this?), but for a smaller wedding I think you can work around it. You could also have it covered, which might be your best bet. I would aim for around 75 guests so you can really optimize the space. Another important thing to note is that a brand new staff is in place, and the previous wedding coordinators (who did not get rave reviews from brides) are no longer there. As with all wedding venues, make sure you like the staff before you sign on the dotted line! This is so important.
