This might be one of the best Superhero wedding cakes we’ve seen!
27-year-old Kia Parsons and her husband, Billy Bunning, 41, were determined to incorporate superheroes into their August 14th wedding in Milton Keynes, England. But as Parsons told ABC News, the couple wanted to avoid “turning our wedding into a children’s party.”
So they kept the superhero nods to a minimum by incorporating them into their table numbers, groom’s socks, and guest book. But it was the cake that really, well, took the cake!
“We didn’t actually see the cake until we arrived at our reception venue,” Parsons said of their wedding cake. “We were completely overwhelmed by how brilliant it looked.
Designed by Julia Baker of Tier By Tier (who is known for her “double-take” cakes, meaning they look classically elegant but typically feature a “surprise” element), the couple’s wedding cake had a four-tier montage of superheroes that included Spider-Man, Iron Man, Captain America and Batman.
“From most angles of the room the cake looked like a traditional wedding cake, just what we had wanted,” she said. “It wasn’t until the cake was moved for us to cut that our guests realized there was a hidden extra.”
