Average Base Cost: $30,000
Our average base cost for a Bell House wedding is calculated by figuring a 125-person guest list for a Saturday night ceremony/reception in July for 100 people and a food cost of $100/pp (since alcohol is already provided in your package cost). Entertainment, flowers, furniture, additional decorations and rentals, transportation, and photography are not included. Price is rounded up to the nearest thousand. Gratuity and sales tax is included.

How it breaks down:
Facility Rental Fee: The Bell House has two main rooms which can be utilized for private events, the Front Lounge and the Main Room (you can choose to use one or both, depending on your needs). Both rooms are included in the rental prices, below.
January-February, July-August
- Monday-Thursday: 1-100 $5,000; 101-150 $5,500; 151-200 $6,250
- Friday/Saturday night: 1-100 $11,000; 101-150 $12,000; 151-200 $13,000
- Daytime Saturday: 1-100 $8,000; 101-150 $9,000; 151-200 $10,000
- Sunday: 1-100 $11,000; 101-150 $12,000; 151-200 $13,000
March-June, September – December
- Monday-Thursday: 1-100 $6,000; 101-150 $6,500; 151-200 $7,250

Important Note: Above rates do not include a 20% gratuity or 8.875% sales tax.
What’s Included: 8.5 hour rental period with private use of entire building from load-in to load-out; 5 hour premium open bar with unlimited liquor, beer, wine and a champagne toast; Bar staff (1 Bartender per 50 people); Bar Back; Manager; Door person (for guest check-in); Sound/Lights/Tech Person; Glassware from bar (pint and champagne glasses as ordered from the bar). Separate sound systems are available in both the lounge and the performance space (so you can bring in your iPod if you want or hire a DJ or band).

Size: For seated receptions with round tables capacity is 100–140 depending on the size of table. For seated events with theater style or other non-traditional seating capacity is 200– 250.
Bridal Suite: No
Parking: Street parking is available, otherwise valet is recommended.
How Will Grandma Get There? The Bell House is located in the Gowanus neighborhood between Park Slope and Carroll Gardens, which are both great Brooklyn neighborhoods (Gowanaus is still developing, so be prepared for it to be industrial). There are a couple of hotel options nearby (such as the Hotel Le Bleu), but out-of-town guests would most likely want to stay in Manhattan.
Party On! The venue allows 8.5 hours for the rental which includes one hour for clean up. For evening events clean up must begin no later than 3 a.m., and for daytime events no later than 5:30 p.m.
The Report:
Created in the space of a former 1920’s printing factory, the Bell House features over 8,000 sq. feet with 25-foot ceilings and a separate performance space and lounge.

There are definitely ways you can make this venue cost less expensive, since you can bring in your own caterer. But if you’re looking for a plated, three-course dinner I always tend to err on the side of caution when it comes to catering prices. I like this venue, but would love to see a few more items included (such as funky tables and chairs). However, I think it’s a great venue if you’re hoping to hire a band and are looking for a flexible space that allows you to bring in your own caterer.
