Cedar Lakes will handle all reservations for your guests if you prefer they pay themselves. Pricing ranges from around $250 for 1 bedroom cottages to $500+ for 3-bedroom suites. For guests not staying on the property there are several hotels nearby, including the Hampton Inn (10 miles away). Typically couples will shuttle guests throughout the weekend to/from the property if they are stay at another hotel. Party On! There are NO noise restrictions which means you can party for as long as you like. Woo-hoo!
The Report:
Starting in the 1920’s, this Hudson Valley property was used as a summer camp for inner-city youth, providing an escape for young NYC campers to experience a nature retreat at Camp Minisink for over 50 years. (Fun fact: Camp alumni still return to their campground for reunions!) In 1990 Steve and Lisa Karvellas bought the land and created a family retreat. In 2010, Stephanie and Lisa Marie Karvellas returned to their childhood home after establishing careers as an event planner and chef, respectively, to join the family business. Together they turned Cedar Lakes Estate into an events facility and destination inn, where couples and their guests have sole use of the 500+ acres with red-water lakes, cedar wood forests, hiking and biking trails, bonfire pits, tennis and basketball courts, as well as fishing and boating opportunities for guests.
Woman Getting Married Says:
If I were to create my own destination wedding venue, it would look A LOT like this! I mean, what’s not to love about this stunning wedding venue? The owners have done an amazing job of creating a rustic yet elegant wedding weekend retreat for couples and their guests, and if you have the budget and a large guest list I would DEFINITELY add this to your wishlist (small guest lists just don’t make sense here with the F&B minimums). While it’s more expensive, the Weekend Wedding Package will definitely allow you to take full advantage of this property, and will be an amazing getaway for your guests. Seriously, this wedding venue is making me having MAJOR wedding envy for anybody lucky enough to say “I Do!” here.
