With its impossibly large skies, towering mountains and views that stretch on endlessly, Montana is a dream wedding destination. But no dream wedding is complete without equally as dreamy wedding vendors, so we asked some of the best Montana wedding planners to share their favorite local wedding vendors, and these are just a few of the incredible vendors they shared…
Welcome to Montana!
“The grounds are beautiful, and there is ample space to hold a few hundred people. They have a huge tent available and plenty of time to set up and take down. There are several different locations to hold the ceremony, and you have space to get ready,” says Erika Sherek of PlumTree Events.
“This venue is one of my absolute favorites. The owner designed the property and has put so much thought into every detail. The weddings run so smoothly, and the flow is perfect. As the guests move from ceremony to cocktails to dinner and then finally to dancing, there is a new surprise around every corner. When you get to the dancing, you enter in an old west party barn…it is a must see!” says Lynn Malmberg of Empress Tents & Events.
“Diamond B is on the river, it is cost effective and beautiful, as well. It can hold up to 300 in the newly built barn, the grounds are manicured and it has a huge space,” says Malmberg.
“My favorite elite premier wedding venue that speaks Montana and mountains is Montana Wildflower Weddings in Red Lodge, MT. In addition to the atmosphere and location, they have an eclectic yet elegant warehouse of furniture and décor,” says Patricia Clark of Patricia Clark Weddings.
“April Sky Photography is the most fun, exciting photographer in Montana. Spend five minutes with her and you know. She has a talent in keeping the client calm on the wedding day, loves to shoot in the mountains and is so very funny. You meet her once and understand immediately,” says Clark.
“If you are looking for color and creativity, this is where you go for pictures,” says Sherek.
“She is a true romantic who loves to adventure with her couples. She will hike miles into the park just to get that perfect photo. She also offers elopements, which have become very popular,” says Malmberg.
“This is a husband and wife team who believe in soul mates, going on adventures and true love. They strive to capture images that are beautiful and capture the emotion and feeling of the day. The images have a natural feel to them, and you can see the relaxation in the couples they work with,” Malmberg says.
“She has a look that the brides seem to be drawn to. They have a fantastic design team, and I can recognize their flowers at any event. They stay current with what is trending and always trying something new,” says Malmberg.
“Lisa can do just about anything. She is an incredible designer! My favorite thing about her is she will take the bride’s look and give three different options to get the same look for a different price. She will switch out the flowers that are in season that will have a similar look, and it will offer the bride a better price point,” says Malmberg.
“They use local blooms and greenery to create something magical. Everything is very thought out, and there is a meaning behind every stem they use,” says Sherek.
“Katie Bennett’s work just blows me away. Every wedding we work together, she stretches her artistic talent and creates unique masterpieces. She listens closely to each bride, gets to know her and her dreams then takes charge developing a floral ‘event.’ She works magnificently with all vendors, so 5 stars for Mac’s Floral and Katie Bennett,” says Clark.
“Using local products, they strive for being a little extra. Each dish they make is carefully thought out and adapted to your needs,” says Sherek.
“Anna and her team are the best of the best. She provides excellent food, superior service and a worry free event that will not only meet but exceed your expectations. Anna will meet with each client to assess their style, needs and preferences for the occasion,” says Malmberg.
“Josh Young of Elements creates each plate personally to present a work of art. He and his wife Scottie are young and hip and just blowing up the market,” says Clark.
“This is a small, family-run business: they love where they live and what they do. Tim not only caters, but he owns a local restaurant in Whitefish, and he has revolutionized the way guests think of wedding food. His custom menu will be prepared hot and fresh onsite in their mobile kitchen. All dishes are presented beautifully and served by their friendly, professional staff,” says Malmberg.
“If I had to pick my favorite cake this is it! The cake is not only to die for but displays such creativity and range,” says Sherek.
“Beth makes traditional cakes or will custom design according to the theme or occasions. She specializes in small delicate desserts for parties. She is my go to girl,” says Malmberg.
“Fleur is a quaint little pastry shop in Whitefish. They provide customized buttercream wedding cakes, cupcakes and tarts. Their delicate buttercream cakes are decorated onsite with fresh flowers to match your floral theme. Whitney is a natural and does a perfect job every time,” says Malmberg.
DJs & Bands
“They have state of the art equipment that will rock any event! And they put on a heck of a party!” says Sherek.
“Graham is professional, organized and his mixed sets keep the party going,” says Malmberg.
Hair & Makeup Artists
“Hands down this is the best hairdresser as far as style, experience and price. They will travel to your location or you can get ready at the shop,” says Sherek.
“I’d recommend Brette Cady of En Vogue Salon, Christina Stevens and Ty Nykole. All these ladies will complement the bride’s unique style and enhance their best features so they look radiant and glowing on that special day. Whether it is sophisticated and timeless, or something a bit more glamorous, it is important for these stylists to get the best version of the bride,” says Malmberg.
