I could go on and on about how much I love this Ohio real wedding. From the wedding venue to the gorgeous photographs captured by Asteria Photography, there are enough heartfelt moments here for a dozen real weddings! But instead of letting me rave about it, I’d rather let bride Maggie share the inspiration and vision behind this amazing day.
“Growing up in the country, I have always dreamed of a country wedding. My husband, Tom, was raised in Columbus but he quickly fell in love with the simplicity and peacefulness of my hometown. The moment we walked into Little Brook Meadows, Tom and I knew this was the place we were going to share our love for each other with all of our family and friends. It was the first and only venue that we looked at. We knew it was meant to be because the date we had chosen was the only date they had available that summer.
“As we planned the wedding, we both wanted to create a rustic country theme that was simple, yet elegant. Growing up, I helped my mom can fruits and vegetables from our garden. Since I was a child, I have always loved the look of mason jars. Much of our inspiration centered around mason jars. Lace and burlap were another inspiration for the decor of our wedding. Tom and I got married inside the the barn, in front of the open barn doors overlooking the pond and hillside. The altar was filled with ferns, babies breath, and wicker lanterns. The aisle was lined with shepherd’s hooks with flowers hanging from them. There were white spherical lanterns hanging from the ceiling and white lights strung across the rafters. I couldn’t have imagined anything more beautiful. It exceeded all of my dreams and expectations of our wedding.”
“Our hope was to create an environment that was fun and relaxing. Tom and I wanted our special day to not only be about us, but all of our family and friends that have supported us since the day we met. We had an intimate and personal ceremony. Only our family members were involved in the wedding party and one of our dear friends married us. A part of our wedding that we both hold close to our hearts, is when my dad sang “For You” by John Denver, while Tom’s mom accompanied him on the piano. There are no words that can express the happiness I felt in that moment. It was beautiful. Standing with Tom as we shared our vows that we had written for one another is another memory I will never forget.”
“I feel incredibly blessed to have been a part of something that was so magical and special. That day wouldn’t have existed without the love from our family and friends and most importantly, my best friend and my love, Tom. I am so thankful that we had my friend–our videographer–there to capture every one of those special moments because the day goes by so quickly. It has been amazing to watch it again and listen to the words of love that Tom and I promised each other. My advice to others planning their wedding would be to enjoy every single moment, don’t stress over little things, and be happy.”
