This Might Be LA’s Coolest Wedding Venue

The view from OUE Skyspace

When it comes to searching for the right wedding venue, most couples we talk to are looking for something not only gorgeous, but a space that is also truly unique. Even though hotel ballrooms have their place, there’s something to be said about finding a wedding venue that’s more out-of-the box. After all, there’s nothing better than having your guests walk into your wedding venue and let out a collective “Wow!” Which is basically the way we feel when we go to OUE Skyspace.

Boasting 360-degree views of Los Angeles landmarks such as the Hollywood Sign and Capitol Records and California’s tallest open-air observation terrace, LA’s OUE Skyspace is definitely one of those wedding venues that makes couples—and guests—stop in their tracks. Aside from the epic views that allow you to see all the way to Catalina Island on a clear day, the venue has made news with their now infamous Skyslide, a 45-foot, fully enclosed, all-glass slide where couples and their guests can ride nearly 1,000 ft. above downtown LA. If that doesn’t cause guests jaws to drop, I don’t know what will!

While the views (and the slide) definitely draw you in, it also has several other features that make this wedding venue top our list:

The Location:

Whether guests are local or traveling from out of town, OUE Skyspace is in the center of all downtown Los Angeles has offer, and is minutes from several top-end hotels such as the Standard and Millennium Biltmore, which means it’s a great wedding venue if you’re looking to plan a destination wedding. TIP: Baco Mercat, one of our fave downtown restaurants, is just a 12-minute walk from the venue for those guests staying downtown who are looking for a fun weekend dining option!

The Slide:

I pretty much guarantee you that your wedding will be the ONLY one a guest goes to that will have a skyslide. As part of your wedding package, you can take a newlywed trip down the 45-foot all-glass enclosed Skyslide that goes from the 70th floor down to the 69th floor terrace, giving you and your guests the opportunity to see Los Angeles from all angles for a once-in-a-lifetime wedding experience.

The Catering:

Brides rave about the in-house beverage and catering teams, led by Chef Gilda Giddens who has worked locally for 20 years at acclaimed restaurants such as The Jonathan Club and Miro downtown. Want to sip and sample their views and beverages? Their Garden Bar serves local beers and wines on the open-air observation rooftop deck seasonally. Plus, don’t miss their Skyspace Nights on Fridays and Saturdays from 9 p.m.-1 a.m. when DJs play everything from House to R&B, Disco, Funk, Old School, Hip Hop & Pop.

The Vibe:

This isn’t your grandmother’s wedding venue (though we’re pretty sure she’ll love it). Aside from the two open-air terraces with glass enclosures—allowing you completely unobstructed and panoramic views of the city and beyond—the inside event space is sleek, modern, and elegant with marble floors, wood accents, and lots and lots of light! You can think of the space as a blank slate or do very little in terms of decor and let the view speak for itself. Even after the sun sets the city lights just add to the already chic and versatile interiors.
