How Does the Lodging Cost Work?
If you are planning for out-of-town guests to stay overnight at the Farmhouse or Lodge who would otherwise be paying for rooms locally, Hardy Farm can assist you in recovering those lodging costs from them. Here’s how it works:
- The venue will work with you to plan specific accommodations for your overnight guests at the Farmhouse and Lodge.
- They can assist you in applying a nightly rate to each of their accommodations.
- You assign the guest rooms and provide them with your assigned guests’ names and contact information.
- You advise your potential overnight guests that you’ve reserved the entire property (including reserving their accommodations) at Hardy Farm and ask them to contact the venue directly for payment.
- Anything the venue collects from your overnight guests prior to the date your second payment is due (90 days prior to your event) is applied to your second payment.
- This program eliminates the awkwardness of having to ask your overnight guests to pay for their guest rooms and will reduce your total venue cost!
Vendors: While they have a list of preferred vendors familiar with the property, you may bring in your own vendors.
Food/Beverage: Your choice
More Stats:
Space Type: Inside/Outside
Size: Up to 150 guests. The barn can seat dinners of up to 100, and the tent can seat dinners up to 150. Ideally if your guest list is at 125 you would have the ceremony in the barn, the dinner under the tent, and the dancing in the barn. You can also of course have the ceremony outside.
Bridal Suite: There is an apartment adjacent to the Barn and Farmhouse where the wedding party can get ready.
Parking: On-site parking
How Will Grandma Get There?
Hardy Farm is approximately 1 hour, 11 minutes from the Portland Airport. Ideally Grandma would stay on the property (in either The Farmhouse or The Lodge), which can accommodate up to 32 guests total. For guests not staying on site, the venue is only a few miles away from the town of North Conway, where there are lots of lodging options at various price points.
Party On! Events can run until midnight, though they ask that amplified music is restricted to the barn and the barn doors are closed at that time. Quieter after hours around the fire pit or in the houses can last as long as you like.
The Report:
First built around 1750, Hardy Farm features a barn with white-washed walls chandeliers, as well as modern conveniences such as air-conditioning and heating. You can choose to have your ceremony on the grounds and your reception in the barn or in a tent on the grounds depending on your guest list (see above), and can have up to 30 guests (plus you and your spouse) stay on the property in the “lodge” and the “house.”
Woman Getting Married Says:
I really love how the property is set up, and think it offers the best of both worlds in terms of intimate venue and resort-like property. I also love that they have seemingly thought of everything for you…from being able to set lodging prices with your guests to the choice between the wedding package and a la carte options based on what you need. The property is rustic yet elegant and feels like the classic Maine retreat. If you are interested in this venue, I would get in touch with them right away…they seem to book up fast!
