How it Breaks Down
Facility Rental Fee: There are two location options/setups for an event at Hidden Pond. The pricing for each breaks down as follows:
THE EVENT BARN
- Up to 100 guests (seated) in the 1,200 sq. foot Event Barn
- Ceremony location fee: $1,000
- Site fee for the reception: $2,000
- Food and beverage minimum spend: $10,000
- Includes round tables and dark brown Chivari wedding chairs
THE FARM (as part of a weekend buyout)
- Up to 200 guests for a tented wedding/reception on their organic farm
- Reception fee: $12,000
- Food and beverage minimum spend: $20,000
- Includes setup and breakdown of the reception, chef’s tent/equipment, bathroom trailer and generator. (NOTE: You will have to pay for the reception tent rental)
Extras: For a weekend buyout, you must book all of the accommodations at the resort (20 bungalows and 16 cottages). While guests can reserve (and pay) for their own rooms, you will be required to give a 25% deposit for the rooms to guarantee they will all be used. Buyouts are only available May, June, September, and October.
Food/Beverage: Catering is provided by the on-site farm-to-table restaurant, Earth. Menus range from a traditional three-course menu for $75-$105/pp to a Southern BBQ ($95/pp) and a Lobster Bake ($135/pp). A choice of three passed hors d’oeuvres are also available for $20-$24/pp (although appetizers are included in the BBQ and Lobster Bake options). Beverage packages range from $42/pp for Wine/Beer for a 4-hour event to $52/pp for a Call-brand Bar and $62/pp for a Premium Bar for a 4-hour event. (Additional hours available for an extra $13-$15/pp). A consumption bar is also available, with drinks ranging from $5-$9/each for beer and up to $14 for premium cocktails.

How Will Grandma Get There? Hidden Pond is located approximately 25 miles from Portland’s airport, 2 hours from Boston, and 5 hours from New York City. Ideally Grandma would stay on the property, as there are a total of 16 two-bedroom cottages and 20 one-bed bungalows on the Hidden Pond property. Rooms start around $323/night, and a block of rooms may be secured for your guests if availability allows if not buying out the property. For guests not staying on-site, there are several other hotels nearby, including the Ocean Woods Resort and sister property, Tides Beach Club.
Party On! Events can go until 10 p.m.
The Report
Located on 60 acres of sweet fern and birch forest and one mile from Goose Rock Beach, Hidden Pond is a full-service, seasonal resort (it’s only open May-October) in Kennebunkport, Maine with two event options: The Event Barn or a tent wedding on The Farm. You may also book all of their accommodations for a weekend property buyout. Activities at or around the resort include paddleboarding, mixology classes, spa, and a “Meet the Gardner” class as well as beach access via their sister property The Tides Beach Club and close proximity to town.
Woman Getting Married Says
I really like the vibe of Hidden Pond, and I think it’s an option not only for brides looking for a Maine wedding venue but for brides in Boston or New York City looking for a destination wedding spot. While the beverage packages are on the higher side, their food prices bring everything back to around average for a resort wedding venue. If you have the budget I would definitely think about inviting enough guests to book the resort for the weekend, so you don’t have to worry about hiring a shuttle to transport guests to and from the resort as well.
