Whether your wedding reception is indoors or outside, there are so many unique ways to spruce up your wedding décor. Some of our favorites include unexpected uses of color for your silverware (hint: rose gold), streamers hanging from the ceiling, or updated centerpieces (like candelabras draped with ivy). From simple accents to whimsy details, your wedding décor will be anything but boring.
The Garden Wedding Bar
Though you can definitely have your bartenders set up shop at a standard rectangular table, we love how creative brides are getting with the design of their wedding bars. When it comes to this statement bar, we think guests will be running faster than usual to get their beverage of choice (and we walk to that wine bar pretty fast! LOL).
The Rustic Candelabra
Who says candelabras are for the indoor ballroom? This version, draped in ivy with scattered flowers, really just takes centerpieces to a whole new level.
Colored Flatware
We’re totally on-board with anything rose gold, so when it comes to this tablescape that includes patterned plates and rose gold flatware, we’re definitely fascinated. Not quite into pink? We can think of a few other color combinations – like copper flatware and navy accents, or gold flatware with a sage green table setting.
Floating Flowers – Everywhere
We have to admit, floating flowers anywhere are definitely a favorite when it comes to décor. These floating flowers in a fountain can really take your décor the extra mile. We also love incorporating tea lights or candles into the display. No fountain? No pool? No worries. For the outdoor wedding, we suggest troughs filled with water, floating floral and cascading flowers. And indoors? Large rectangular glass centerpieces with rows of floating flowers.
Modern Centerpieces
While we love a tall centerpiece filled with lush blooms, we also adore unexpected centerpieces, like bud vases lined with single floral and greenery. This version with varying heights is whimsy, bright and totally screams summer. A more modern version could be done with bud vases, all the same height, filled with the same flower.
The Extra Special Place Setting
What guest doesn’t want to arrive at their seated and be greeted by a bright, bold bloom (like this cheerful rose version pictured below). Also, that bare farm table look? Yes, please.
Textured Tablecloths
Tablecloths are a simple way to accentuate your tablescape. One of the easiest ways to make yours extra special is to layer a tablecloth with a table runner. This version is so light, airy and most-of-all, inviting.

Fresh-cut Favors
A wedding favor display that also doubles as décor? Total win-win. This idea of creating a flower market at your wedding, where guests can create their own arrangement before leaving your event, is such an updated take on the wedding favor. Though freshly-cut favorites like peonies and roses are nice, you could also create a wildflower market with more budget-friendly blooms like daisy’s that will still have the same effect.

Quirky Accents
The perfect way to bring your personality into your wedding is through unique décor, like this swing adorned in floral and greenery. And, of course, this makes for a great photo opportunity with your spouse!
Consider Hanging Plants
Can’t decide what to do for centerpieces? Forgo them entirely, and hang arrangements from the ceiling! Though you’ll definitely have to source approval from your venue to do so, hanging floral from the ceiling (rafters, exposed beams, etc.) is a totally updated look when it comes to reception décor. We can’t help but smile.
Draped Streamers
For another dangling detail, substitute floral for streamers. Not only are they budget-friendly, they are the perfect whimsical detail for a more rustic wedding. When used with muted colors and draped to hang at the same length, the effect is less birthday party, and more dreamy. And when coupled with hanging lights? Perfection.
The Edible Display
When it comes to décor, let’s talk edible. From donut walls to dessert bars, not only are these sweet treats delicious, they are also a feast for the eyes. With an abundance of options to choose from, it’s hard to choose a favorite sweet, but we’re impartial to this totally creative display of donuts.
The Whimsical Vase
Unexpected moments are key to delighting guests, and this floral arrangement in a pineapple (!) does just that. Plus, you can use the goods from the inside of the pineapple for pina coladas at the bar.

The Lounge
If your space allows, creating a lounge on site with couches and bright pillows will give guests somewhere to kick back mid-dinner. Incorporating pillows that match your color scheme help anchor the space and really tie together the palette.
Calligraphed Menus
If you are totally into wedding stationery and paper goods, consider a little luxury such as calligraphed menus. Romantic, and informative, we completely adore these. Bonus for extra cool paper, like this one.
