Though Ziad and Zoe had only two months to plan their wedding — with one of them living in Canada and the other in Dubai — everything came together perfectly. The couple said “I do” in in Maui after initially struggling to choose a location for the big day.
“We had been engaged for three years but couldn’t figure out where we were going to get married,” Zoe said. “We were actually speaking with [Ziad’s] parents on when they would be coming to the U.S. next for a visit and they said they were thinking to go to Maui in August, so we decided right there on the spot we would go to Maui with them and plan a small intimate wedding.”
Around 25 guests ended up RSVP’ing, putting Zoe in a tough situation while looking for venues, since the number seemed to be in the middle when it came to packages. “Most venues in Hawaii have elopement packages for 10 and under and then larger packages for 30+ so I had to call around to a lot of venues to compare packages and prices,” she said.
In the end, however, everything turned out exactly as it should have, with the couple tying the knot at the gorgeous Sugar Beach Events in Maui. Captured by The Ferns Photography, Ziad and Zoe’s wedding was a day everybody will remember. Check out a few of our favorite snapshots from the couple’s big day, below. And a big congrats to Zoe and Ziad!
“When it comes to the dress if you like a certain brand on Instagram go and check them out and don’t be afraid to try other styles than what you originally thought you liked,” Zoe said. “My dress was part of the Ready To Wear collection from Grace Loves Lace which I had not even seen prior to visiting their Venice showroom.”

“I think it’s really important to have an idea in mind and don’t compromise on that. If you know what you want the venue to look like make sure you find a venue that best fits that vision,” Zoe said. “Keep looking for options before settling on a venue just because it meets one of your points.”
“My favorite moment of the wedding was our first dance being surrounded by all our loved ones,” Zoe said. “It was a very special and happy moment for me.”
