26 Statement Wedding Necklaces We Want to Wear Right Now

Certain dresses shout out for bold and beautiful statement wedding necklaces. Strapless or spaghetti-strap wedding dresses (and even illusion necklines) are amazing with a powerful necklace, and they’re even a fun way to incorporate a bit of color into your look.

When it comes to wedding necklaces (especially statement ones), it can be tricky to figure out what you should (and shouldn’t) wear with them. If you wear a bold wedding necklace should you skip the earrings? Or if you wear a pair of earrings that really stand out should you skip the necklace? While there’s no right or wrong way to wear wedding jewelry, a general rule of thumb when it to pick one piece you love and go from there. Whether that’s a statement necklace, bold earrings, or even a bohemian headpiece, focusing on one element will help you narrow down your options (and perhaps inspire them). Once you have your main piece, it’s a safe bet to assume the following pairings:

Statement Necklace:

Goes Well With Any of the Following: Simple studs; short veil; understated hairclip; chunky or delicate bracelets

Bold Earrings:

Goes Well With Any of the Following: Long or short veil; understated hairclip; chunky or delicate bracelets; no necklace

Headpiece (think floral crowns and other large pieces):

Goes Well With Any of the Following: Simple studs; long necklaces (like pearls); chunky or delicate bracelets

Headband:

Goes Well With Any of the Following: Simple studs; delicate bracelets and necklaces

Keep in mind that with more classically-sized jewelry (think teardrop earrings and necklaces), you can absolutely wear them as a set. And of course you should take all of this advice with a grain of fashion salt! We are all individuals which means NOTHING I say is by any means a hard-and-fast rule. It’s only a bit of jewelry guidance! 🙂

With those jewelry rules broken down, let’s get on to the fun stuff…shopping! A few of my recent favorite statement wedding necklaces are below. If you’re feeling adventurous, I would definitely think about wearing one with a bit of color. But even if you feel like going a bit more understated, a chunky pearl or crystal necklace can have just as much of an impact. Just be sure to consider your wedding dress AND venue before making your final decision. For example, a beach wedding might be better suited for more casual stones vs. diamonds (crystals) for a loft, museum, or other urban setting.

P.S.: I am obsessed with that Lulu Frost necklace! (Even though I would still search for it on sale!)
