Trunk shows are ubiquitous to the bridal industry, and for good reason. Though the shows vary designer to designer, they’re generally a way for brides to view, try on, and buy gowns from a collection straight off the runway, before they hit stores. Perfect for finding a unique dress? Yes. Easily accessible? Not exactly.
That was, until Moda Operandi digitized the process. Now, you can shop all sorts of collections — including non-bridal ones — from the comfort of your own home. Finding a brand-new designer dress has never been so easy!
How It Works
Moda Operandi is constantly hosting a large number of shows. To get started, simply browse the site to find one that interests you, and start looking through the collection! You shouldn’t be limited in options, either — rather than only offering certain pieces, Moda offers each collection in full.

Each collection is typically available for two weeks. Any that are about to end (even if there’s still six or so days left) will have a note by it so you don’t miss out.
Once you’ve found something you like, you’ll pay half of the listed price up front, and the rest when your order arrives — which, since you’re shopping designs fresh off the runway, can take awhile. The exact arrival time depends on the designer and collection, but most take at least 12 to 18 weeks. Some designers will even specify a timeframe in which you can expect to receive your piece.
Though you may be stressed about the idea of waiting that long to get a dress that doesn’t even fit, Moda actually offers full refunds and complimentary return shipping. Plus, the site has a “True Fit” tool which compares designer measurements with your normal size from other designers to suggest the best fit option for you!
