The sweetest part of your wedding? The dessert! Wedding cakes can be unique and stunning, but they can also be a tempting place to save some dough…in more ways than one. After all, cakes can be a lot more expensive than you think, and that’s not counting the cake cutting fee that many caterers or venues will charge. And some brides may not be cake people!
We rounded up some of our favorite sweet treats for the wedding dessert table, below. Let us know what you think!

Doughnuts are SUCH a popular trend for weddings right now, and we can see why! Paired with coffee, they make the perfect after-dinner treat.
What about an ice cream or frozen yogurt bar? Line the counter with your favorite toppings and let guests go to town on their frozen treats! Or better yet, hire an ice cream helper! 🙂
Having an outdoor wedding? S’mores are a huge hit on Pinterest. They’re nostalgic, delicious, and pretty cheap, too.
A caramel apple bar is a must for a fall wedding. Think blankets as favors, pretty leaves falling…
If you’re having a down-home country wedding, consider pie. You could offer a handful of different flavors, like cherry or apple. Sweet, simple, and delicious.
If you have a sweet tooth but aren’t feeling the baked good route, a candy bar could be a fun option as well. Give guests kraft bags or gift bags and let them go to town on things like Swedish Fish or monogrammed M&Ms. Offer a wide variety of chocolate vs. fruity vs. sour so there’s something for everyone!
And remember…just because you don’t want to break the bank doesn’t mean you can’t give guests a great dessert. There’s always something fun and sweet you can offer that will make wedding guests smile.
