When it comes to finding your dream wedding dress, there’s no better place than New York City. While there are literally too many amazing NYC wedding dress stores to list, we thought we’d start with the shops that consistently rank among the best by brides looking for their perfect wedding dress. Are you a New York City bride (or did you buy your wedding dress there)? Appointment Needed? Yes. Walk-ins are not allowed and they are strict about keeping the appointments to one hour.

Woman Getting Married Says: This “Etsy meets vintage chic” store is the place to find gorgeously unique designer dresses. While the selection is extensive the price tags don’t dip below $1,300, so brides on a budget beware. Brides who’ve shopped here rave about the staff’s “friendly” and “helpful” customer service and “whimsical” setting. Don’t live in New York City? The store has several U.S. locations in cities such as Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Philadelphia, too.

Woman Getting Married Says: One of the most popular wedding dress designers of her time, wedding dresses from the late Amsale Aberra and her team (who continue on with her vision) have been worn by countless celebrities and featured on everything from Grey’s Anatomy to 27 Dresses. Brides say appointments at this bright and airy flagship salon feel “personal” and “welcoming,” with “attentive” bridal consultants that manage to pull the perfect dresses for your body type.

Woman Getting Married Says: This family-owned business carries a wide selection of designers at affordable prices. Brides note the “impeccable service” and love the “stress-free experience.” Their impressions selection of plus size gowns is also a plus!

5. Schone Bride

Woman Getting Married Says: As the home of TLC’s Say Yes to the Dress, this is where many a bride come to (hopefully) say just that. With a “huge” selection you won’t have the most intimate experience, but brides say they “never felt rushed” and that the customer service is “a dream.”

Brides loved the store’s “natural lighting” while trying on dresses, and owners Ksenia and Jana were also said to be “friendly and accommodating” and willing to make even the slightest changes to “ensure that it was perfect.” If you’re looking for a unique selection of dresses this may be the stop for you.

Woman Getting Married Says: Brides felt like they got the “best personal shopping” and stylist experience here. While some brides say they’re a “little quirky” and make you remove your shoes while in the store, it’s often described as a very “zen experience.”

Woman Getting Married Says: For brides who are on a budget but still want to wear a high-end designer, this place is for you. You’ll find “one of” sample, discontinued, and/or overstocked bridal gowns for 25%-75% off retail. Note that all sales are final.

    Hi! What a great list. I visited a few of those place, and I found my Monique Lhuillier dress at Our Story Bridal! I stumbled upon them doing some research and loved the idea of not shelling out too much money for a designer dress.
