How Will Grandma Get There? Manchester, Vermont (where the resort is located) is around 2 hours and 20 minutes from the Burlington International Airport. Ideally Grandma would stay at the resort, where rooms start around $250+ depending on the time of year (and can go up to $1,000+). For guests not staying on property, hotels such as The Inn at Manchester or The Barnstead Inn are a few minutes away.
Party On! The rental period is from 12 p.m. on the wedding day until 11:30 p.m. (with last call at 11:00 p.m.)
The Report
Situated on 1,300 acres between the Green and Taconic Mountains, the Equinox Resort is considered a “four seasons” destination, since guests of the hotel can ski, hike, fish, go off-road driving, or practically anything else you can think of in the great outdoors (or in, if you visit their spa). The Resort is also known for it’s 200-year-old history, and over the years has been known by many names (Marsh Tavern, Thaddeus Munson’s New Inn, Widow Black’s Inn, Vanderlip’s Hotel, The Taconic, The Orvis Hotel, and Equinox House) as well as for it’s famous visitors (four American presidents, to start.)
Woman Getting Married Says
Vermont is a perfect destination wedding spot for couples in and around New York, and this resort would make a great getaway option. Their Colonnade Ballroom is one of the few ballrooms I actually like (I’m a sucker for stately columns), but I also love the Dirty Dancing vibe of the Pond Pavillion. It would be amazing to actually use the Pond Pavillion for a rehearsal dinner and the Colonnade Ballroom for your wedding reception, but I think either/or would work out just as great depending on your budget.
