The Report
The Edgewater is Seattle’s only waterfront (and over-water) hotel, with views of Elliott Bay, Mt. Rainier, the Olympic Mountains and the Seattle Skyline. The four-story building was initially built for Seattle’s World Fair in 1962, and actually hosted The Beatles in 1964 during the height of “Beatlemania.” A famous photo of them fishing from their hotel rooms was actually captured here.
Woman Getting Married Says
I like the non-corporate, modern yet still rustic vibe of this hotel and the rooms. It’s a combo you don’t often see in bigger hotel chains, which means it will have more of an Inn/Lodge feel while still offering size for your guests (it has 223 guestrooms). And while I’m not a big fan of carpet in ballrooms, the amazing view pretty much guarantees nobody will be looking down! I would stick to a smaller guest list for this venue (125 and under) so you can take advantage of the terrace as much as possible in the warmer months.
Even though there is a consumption bar vs. a flat hourly rate (my preferred choice), the total catering costs are on par with the area. And the no venue rental fee is a big plus. Keep in mind, however, that there is also a valet fee of $20/car that you would most likely want to cover for your guests, so be sure to budget for that as well.
