The Report

The Ole Hanson Beach Club was built in 1928 and was named after….you guessed it, Ole Hanson, a politician who founded the city of San Clemente. The Ole Hanson Beach Club has two ocean-view patios, Olympic-sized swimming pool, manicured lawn, and event room. A typical wedding setup includes a ceremony on the Grand Lawn, cocktail hour on the East Deck, dinner on the West Deck and dancing in the Main Room.

Woman Getting Married Says

This venue was closed for renovations and was recently re-opened by the caterer 24 Carrots. And while it’s not BYOB anymore, we dried our tears pretty quickly when we found out it was 24 Carrots, who also added a bunch of furniture rentals to the list of items included in the facility fee which weren’t there before. They are one of our faves and are definitely great for working within your budget.

I still say if you’re looking for a budget beachfront wedding venue in Orange County with both inside/outside options, the Ole Hanson Beach Club should definitely be on your list. It’s rare to find a beachfront wedding venue that ALSO has a rain option, which is why we love this space. I think you would definitely want to do some fun DIY decorations to give the space a bit of personality, or splurge on an event designer or amazing florist who can take it to the next level. I would also not skimp on the photographer, who can make the venue look even more amazing than it is with the right shots/lighting.

Be sure to check out the Casa Romantica wedding venue for another San Clemente option.

I’m surprised to see you gave this such a high rating. My fiancee and I checked it out recently and were not impressed with the view of the parking lot (in front of the ocean) and the skaters that rolled by the grass area where ceremonies are hosted. Feels like a rec center more than a wedding venue.

Casa Romantica, also in San Clemente, is much nicer!
