How to Create Your Custom Wedding Invitation Design With Minted
In just a few steps you can be connected with your personal Minted designer and start creating you custom design. Here’s how:
Initial Request + Brief
First things first, fill out the initial inquiry form. (Currently, the wait time to meet with Minted’s design team is about 4-5 weeks from when you submit your inquiry — so give yourselves plenty of time.)
On the form, you’ll fill out your contact info and what you’re looking for. For instance, do you want to modify an existing design, start from scratch, design a full, end-to-end wedding look, or create custom watercolor elements? (Or, all of the above!) You can include links to Minted products you like, links to your Pinterest board and other inspo as well.
From there, a customer service member will reach out to you within 1-2 days. Then, you’ll be asked to create a design brief that will outline your needs, wants, preferred styles, etc. You’ll have chances to tweak as you go on and finalize everything, but the brief is a hugely important step in the process. Many creatives and design folks will tell you, a project is only as good as the brief! This is your chance to kick everything off design-wise on the right foot.
Designer Consult
Once your brief is complete, you’ll then be matched with a talented designer. An appointment will be scheduled to chat and make your vision come to life. The designers can work with a wide variety of techniques and designs, including watercolor elements, custom maps, venue illustrations, gorgeous color palettes, graphics, fonts, foil— and beyond!
The cost for a custom design will depend on the quantity of pieces you purchase as well as the intricacy of the design elements that you choose. You’ll be provided with a cost estimate, and if there are any changes throughout the design consult you’ll be notified for approval prior.
Minted’s custom design services come with unlimited design rounds, so you can make revisions on each proof you receive until everything is picture-perfect. (Literally!) Then, you can have your custom artwork printed on any products Minted offers!

Inspiration for Your Custom Wedding Invites
There is so much to think about when it comes to your custom design, and your designer will definitely be there to lead the way. However, it helps to sit down with your partner and think about not only your wedding style, but your hometowns, where you met, or your travels together to name a few.
Having a destination wedding? Custom watercolor paintings of cityscapes or scenic views can be the focal part of your suite. If you want to pay homage to your heritage, the designer can incorporate colors and symbols with luxe, hand-pressed foil design elements that range from subtle, to bold.
Or, if you both come from two different places, your design could meld iconic locations from your two cities together into one big heart (just an idea!).
WGM Says: You can use your custom design not just on your invites, but on everything Minted offers such as your ceremony programs, envelope liners, save the date cards, menus, your wedding website, and more!
Custom maps of where your wedding will take place with special shoutouts of must-see attractions, restaurants or favorite shops is a great way to personalize your stationery and give your guests the inside scoop! Or, you can tell your designer your ideal colors, vibe, theme and important elements and let them get to work!
However you start, the final product will be a gorgeous, truly one-of-a-kind invitation suite design unique to you, your wedding, and your relationship. Click here to get started!
