How it breaks down:

The rental fee is usually waived if in-house catering is used, however this only applies for weddings of 150 or more guests. For weddings of under 150 guests a rental fee of $7,000 applies. In addition, there is a $1,000 fee for on-site ceremonies.
What’s Included: Catering and premium open bar, tables, linen, chairs, all lounge furniture, and all in-house a/v equipment.

- Security: (2 required at $225 per guard)
- Sound Technician: (1 required at $800 for an 8-hour shift)
- Light Technician: (1 required at $800 for an 8-hour shift)
- Stage Hand is required when using the stage ($700 for an 8-hour shift)
Food and Beverage: Outside vendors are allowed EXCEPT for catering (the only exception allowed is for religious/cultural catering requirements). The administrative fee is approximately 23%. The in-house chef is Mina Newman.

How Will Grandma Get There? The Edison Ballroom is in Times Square, which means you are in hotel central as well as close to a ton of transportation options. Hotels in the area include the Marriott Marquis and The Plaza Hotel (as well as the Hotel Edison, which is adjacent to the venue).
Party On! There is no specific end time, as long as you stay within the 5 hours included with the rental (or 6 hours with a ceremony).
The Report:
Originally opened in the 1930’s as the Grand Ballroom of the adjacent Edison Hotel, the 17,000 sq. ft historical venue reopened in 2008 after a multi-million dollar renovation. With classic Art Deco architecture, the ballroom was the performance venue for several famous swing bands back in the day, as well as the Broadway play Oh! Calcutta! from 1976 to 1989.
Woman Getting Married Says:
This New York City wedding venue is perfect for the bride looking for a big space with Art Deco charm and the perfect stage for a big band. And yes, the bride should also have a big budget! This space will definitely need florals and other decor to make it feel intimate, so keep that in mind when tallying up your prices. The no-rental fee is a big plus in the city, so that’s a score in my mind along with the location.
