The Report:
Opened for public tastings in 1882 by Charles Krug, the Charles Krug Winery is the oldest winery in Napa Valley, and is also home to California’s first tasting room. (Note: The Charles Krug Winery is one of 5 wineries in Napa Valley where you can actually have a wedding). A typical wedding setup at the winery includes a ceremony on the Great Lawn, cocktail hour on the Great Lawn or first floor of Carriage House, and reception/dancing on the second floor of the Carriage House. The Carriage House, which dates back to 1881, has a renovated ballroom and dining room, with cathedral ceilings and redwood flooring with views of the Great Lawn, featuring heritage oaks and vineyards.
Woman Getting Married Says
Not that many people know that there are onlyfive vineyards in the Napa Valley area where you are technically allowed to have a wedding, and this is one of them! The grounds at the Charles Krug Winery are gorgeous, and so is the recently renovated inside space. I do think it’s a bummer that you can only have beer/wine at the event, and this is something to take into consideration for many Napa wedding venues in the area. However, if you and your crowd are OK with that and you’re looking for a stunning Napa Valley wedding venue, this should be on your must-visit list.
