How Will Grandma Get There? Cannon Green is located in the Upper Peninsula area of downtown Charleston. The Charleston International airport is about 17 minutes away from the venue (11 miles), and nearby hotels include the Hyatt House, Francis Marion, and some of Charleston’s best hotels (such as the Belmond) are just a short drive away. Be sure to check with the venue re: hotel partners and discounts. One fun thing to consider would be renting a trolley to take guests to the venue. Companies such as Absolutely Charleston will rent trollies for around $850 for 4 hours. You can see the pricing options here.
Party On! Events can go until 11 p.m.
The Report:
Cannon Green, a 19th century Charleston single house facade and old trolley warehouse, is a mix of modern and contemporary architectural details, including a tropical al fresco courtyard for indoor/outdoor events. A typical wedding setup includes a ceremony and cocktail hour in the Courtyard, followed by the reception in the Trolley Room. FYI: The Cannon Green restaurant is separate from the event spaces.
Woman Getting Married Says:
My love of Charleston is strong (and might border on obsessive!), but I just think it makes a perfect honeymoon spot as well as destination wedding city, especially for guests coming from the east coast. The airport is super convenient, and the downtown area is easily walkable for guests. The whole city kind of takes on a chic yet funky resort vibe, and I love how you can walk from amazing restaurant to quaint bar or head to the water to watch the sunset, all within a 1 mile radius. While we do love Charleston plantation wedding venues, I think Cannon Green offers a modern and glam option while still capturing all that Charleston charm! It’s also almost completely turn-key, meaning if you are planning a destination wedding you won’t have to drive yourself crazy with the details…this venue will definitely help you sort it all out, even from afar. Venue rental fees in Charleston tend to be on the higher side, and while this is no exception you are getting A LOT for your money in terms of linens, tables, chairs, lounge furniture, heaters, etc….all items you would usually have to rent from other vendors for an additional expense. All in all Cannon Green should be on your must-see list if you’re thinking of a Charleston wedding.
