Elie Saab, born in Beirut, began his interest in dressmaking at the ripe old age of 9, when he would use his mother’s tablecloths to cut patterns and draw sketches for his sisters. After developing a local following, he opened his first couture atelier when he was 18. He spent the next several years debuting collections in Rome and Paris, where he opened his flagship store.
The designer is a favorite amongst celebrities, and has designed red carpet dresses for Halle Berry, Taylor Swift, Diane Kruger, and Gwyneth Paltrow. Their dresses have even been worn by several celebrity brides, including Rose Leslie (from Game of Thrones, Princess Stephanie of Luxembourg, and by Alexandra Lenas for her wedding to Sean Parker).
Elie’s favorite fabrics, according to the designer, are “noble” materials such as taffeta and organza, paired with more fluid fabrics such as muslin or lace.
WGM Says:
Elie Saab gowns definitely have a regalness to them. They’re bold, yet they still manage to seem delicate. I love how they have such classic silhouettes, but with a fun twist.
Price:
Elie Saab wedding dresses are typically between $8,000-$26,000+.
Where to Buy Them:

The Latest Elie Saab Wedding Dress Collections:
“Ethereal radiance” was the theme for Elie Saab’s Spring Summer 2023 collection, and you can see this with every dress. Inspired by nature, Pre-Raphaelites, and “fleeting moments of transcendence,” each dress feels like an escape from the hustle and bustle of urban life.
The Fall 2022 collection, on the other hand, is still romantic yet feels more modern. Referred to as a “moving portrait” of the forever majestic bride, it’s less whimsical and a bit more serious with heavier laces and distinct lines.
