Now, if I’m wrong I’ll of course eat my words, but right now it looks like one of Kate Middleton’s wedding dresses tomorrow (she’ll be wearing two: one for the ceremony and one for the reception) will be designed by Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen. Burton, who was McQueen’s “right-hand” woman after she joined the label as an intern in 1996, took over the position of Creative Director after Alexander McQueen’s suicide in February of last year. She presented her first womenswear collection with the debut of the label’s Spring/Summer collection last October. Some of the key pieces from the collection are below. Since taking over, she’s been praised for keeping Alexander McQueen’s edgy style while infusing her own touch of femininity.
I guarantee you that if Sarah Burton is in fact Kate Middleton’s royal wedding dress designer (or if it’s vintage Alexander McQueen), it is going to be STUNNING. I can’t wait to see!!
