Jessica and Jacqueline’s wedding at Battello restaurant in New Jersey was such a great mix of colors set against a gorgeous waterfront venue. Bold blues contrasted perfectly with ivory, grey, and even a hint of gold to really make this nautical wedding stand out. Combine that with two beautiful brides and photos from the Thompson Photography Group, and you have one picture-perfect wedding that looked like a dream come true.
More from bride Jacqueline:
“The inspiration for the day was elegant, yet rustic and modern. We wanted to go with something along the lines of greenery with grays and subtle hues of light colors. We also loved the whole navy and brown look. We have a nautical type venue, as it was a nautical themed restaurant on a pier overlooking the Manhattan skyline, so we wanted everything to go well together. We liked the idea that Battello had dim lighting and cute hanging lights, lamps, etc. It definitely went with the vibe we were going for. Romantic, yet modernly elegant. Jessica and I did a lot of the decorating ourselves (Thank God for Etsy!). We had navy table clothes, ivory napkins, gold writing on our menus, and votives lit throughout the entire venue. Our dresses were ivory gowns, our bridesmaids wore dark gray dresses with nude shoes, our bridesmen wore dark navy blue suits with brown shoes. Our bouquets were subtle and different shades of whites and ivory with greenery mixed in. We had a wooden look as well…most of our signs were wood and it really tied all of the colors and scheme together nicely. My mother had my late Uncle’s picture attached to my bouquet so he could assist walking me down the aisle, which to me was an incredibly touching and meaningful part of my day that made it that much more special.
We found a lot of our decor on Etsy and by Googling. We wanted it to be perfect so once we got an idea or a vision we searched for it until we found exactly what we were looking for. Our brother-in-law made us a beautiful card box that went perfectly with our theme as well. We wrote our vows to one another personally and had vow books we used to read them aloud that were lovely. An aspect I loved were our entrances, as Battello has double staircases and we were able to walk in at the same time with our fathers down the stairs. We met at the bottom, exchanged glances and I walked down the aisle with my father first, waited for Jessica at the end, and she walked down after. We were then given away and the ceremony began. We walked in to Adele, whom we’ve loved and has been a big part of our relationship. It was absolutely beautiful.”
