I have a ton of family that lives in Buffalo (Go Bills!) so I was kind of excited when I saw a real wedding come through from there. Then when I saw the gorgeous photos I got REALLY excited!!
Captured by Rooted Love Photography, Janine and Chris’s wedding at the stunning Mansion on Delaware is such a great example of refined, simple, elegance. You don’t need an overly decorated wedding table or venue to make a statement. You just need some pops of color and the right pieces for a chic wedding that guests will remember forever. We’ll let the photographer and the bride give you even more fun details, below! A big congrats to the happy couple!!
From the Photographer:
“Chris and Janine met at the Blue Monk beer cathedral and had an instant connection while imbibing in the the establishment’s Belgium intensive craft brews on the famously eclectic Elmwood Ave in Buffalo, NY. Chris wanted the timing of their engagement to be both special and memorable so he proposed to Janine on 12/13/14 at 12:14am.
I first met this amazing family when they graciously invited me into their home for their son, Christian’s newborn photos. I feel incredibly lucky to have been a part of this milestone time in their lives and to be able to capture all the happy memories along the way. It’s been so great to be able to watch Christian grow and to witness the joy that radiates from this adorable family. I was thrilled when their wedding day finally arrived!
The Mansion on Delaware is simply gorgeous and was a wonderful venue for this intimate wedding celebration of about 50 guests. The very talented Lizzy Dugan, of Salon Elizabeth, provided hair and makeup for the bride and her mother and they looked absolutely gorgeous! Janine was breathtaking in her Ann Taylor, ivory lace gown and the rose gold sash she found on Etsy. Her Badgley Mischka shoes in ivory satin with sparkly accents were the perfect compliment to her dress for a fresh look with understated elegance. Everything coordinated perfectly with the couple’s rose gold and white gold wedding rings crafted by local jeweler, Barbara Oliver & Company.
Janine was going for a light and airy feel for the reception with a little pop of color which was achieved with a mostly white backdrop, enhanced by champagne table clothes with red rose and deep purple calla lily arrangements in varied heights on each table. The stunning table arrangements, along with the bride’s bouquet of white and pale pink roses were created by The Floristry. The delicious cake by Dessert Deli featured the cutest cake topper of a couple each holding the hand of their child – so sweet!
The weather was perfect for an outdoor ceremony, followed by a romantic formal dinner party indoors. Once inside, the bride and groom had their first dance to one of their favorite songs by the Dave Matthew’s Band and cut their wedding cake as all of their guests looked on. Christian’s Godmother, a close friend of Janine’s, gave a heartwarming speech about the couple which ended in happy tears and loving embraces from both the bride and groom. You could feel the happiness exploding from both Janine and Chris as the two of them sat together at their sweetheart table and looked out on all of their closest family and friends with love and gratitude.”
From the Bride:
“Chris and I chose The Mansion on Delaware because we wanted classy elegance with old and historic finishes. The ornate architecture, blended with modern artwork and amenities just felt like the right fit for the airy, romantic and elegant style I was hoping to achieve for our wedding. I did quite a bit of searching on Pinterest and I felt extremely indecisive. I relied heavily on my vendors to help me attain my vision! I discussed a few details with each person I was working with and allowed them to make suggestions based on their experience and expertise. With their help, I was able to finalize my decisions from some of their input. For my bouquet, I just knew I wanted light pink touches with romantic ivory flowers to compliment my rose gold jewelry. The Floristry created that for me along with their own ideas for the lovely flower arrangements on each table. Dessert Deli came up with the cake design and we just went with what The Mansion suggested and everything ran smoothly. Chris and I were pretty relaxed about the whole day and we thought of it more as a big celebration and a really fun dinner party. Everything turned out so beautiful and we could not have been happier!”
