The Report

Ogle Hall has been a focal point of Annapolis cultural life since its construction in 1739. According to legend, George Washington and the Marquis de Lafayette strolled its rooms when it served Maryland as the Governor’s Mansion. Many antiques and architectural details are preserved within its walls. Today it serves as the Alumni House for the U.S. Naval Academy, a purpose which has brought both conservation and modernization. The house, located within walking distance of downtown Annapolis, features a full catering kitchen, controlled lighting, central heat and air conditioning, handicap accessibility and additional modern touches that are of use for a variety of events, including weddings.

Woman Getting Married Says

The location and charm of the Historic Ogle Hall is great, and because of this you won’t need much more than flowers and candles when it comes to decor. Out-of-town guests will love staying so close to the venue, and also appreciate that it’s so close to downtown. While the venue fees are on the pricier side, a wedding planner is included in the price (though the 15% catering coordination fee evens that out a bit). Brides also rave about the venue’s staff as well as catering options. Even though the venue can accommodate up to 300 guests (if you utilize the side yard), I love the idea of a smaller, more intimate wedding here.
