Diamond Alternatives: Tourmaline Engagement Rings

In case you’re not familiar with this semi-precious stone, Tourmaline is a gorgeous alternative to diamond, emeralds, sapphires, and ruby engagement rings. While the most common color is black, the stone’s name is derived from the Singhalese phrase “tura mali,” meaning “stone mixed with vibrant colors.” In addition to being incredibly striking, some people say it has detoxifying powers…which means I can FINALLY claim that I bought a piece of jewelry because it’s good for me! 🙂

Several of my favorite jewelry designers are designing rings with this stone, and I LOVE the results (especially the pink tourmaline!). If you’re looking for a diamond alternative for your engagement ring (or any ring for that matter), this could be perfect for you. I’ve included a few of my favorites in every price range, below!
