I can’t believe I’ve yet to include our own wedding song in this list! Well, here it is in all it’s 80’s rock glory.
We, like most couples, spent quite a bit of time trying to figure out what our wedding song should be. I was really into Van Morrison’s Into the Mystic, but Cory hated the line “rock your gypsy soul.” LOL. So, as you’ll find when choosing your own wedding song….little things can take songs you like off the table.
Instead we went with “Never Tear Us Apart” by INXS. We both really liked the songs and lyrics, and if playing it on a jukebox when you were both in a bar one time constitutes “your song,” well then that was good enough for us. I will save you the details of the dance lessons we paid for so we could dance to this song (and fail horribly at it). But, yeah, that happened, too.
All in all I think it’s a fun first dance choice…it’s a bit unexpected yet still recognizable, and let’s you do a bit more than just sway back and forth if you want to!
