Wyatt and Chelsea first met in their college dorm’s cafeteria. Though they chatted while both making Texas-shaped waffles, it wasn’t exactly love at first sight. In fact, the two parted ways afterward, only seeing each other randomly throughout the next few years.
Then, one night, fate — err, Chelsea’s roommate, Tom — brought Chelsea and a wounded Wyatt together. He had sliced his finger at work, and a short trip to the hospital later, he was attempting to feel better with the help of pain meds the doctor gave him. Those were likely what inspired him to, at one point, shout “She never loved me the way I deserved!” about an ex-girlfriend. As the story goes, Chelsea whispered to Tom, “I would love him the way he deserves…”
Cut to three months later, when Chelsea finally got the courage to ask Wyatt on a date. They soon became inseparable, and the rest is history!

When it came time for the Wyatt and Chelsea’s wedding, it turned out to be just as unique as their story. Held in Austin, Texas at the House on the Hill and captured beautifully by Nikk Nguyen Photo, the couple customized a lot of the decor, including: wood lanterns, eucalyptus arrangements, wine bottle centerpieces, and all of their signage.
“Our ultimate goal with our wedding was to make it reflect us and our relationship as much as possible,” Chelsea said. “That’s what led us to building and creating a lot of the décor ourselves. We used the wedding as a way to facilitate creativity within ourselves and using it as a reason to spend quality time with our families. Wyatt’s family (particularly his mother) helped on almost all DIY projects and in the end made mine and her relationship so much stronger.”
