wedding dress trends

Psssst! If you rate the podcast and send a screenshot of your review to [email protected], we’ll send you our 5 insider wedding planning tips EVERY bride should know.

We just got back from New York Bridal Fashion Week, the biannual event in NYC where the top wedding dress designers showcase their latest wedding dress collections. It’s a chance for media (like us) and buyers (like your bridal boutique) to scout out the latest trends and see what brides will be coming down the aisle in next. Every year it’s a great way to spend a few days looking at gorgeous wedding dresses that we get to report back to you all on before you get to buy them in a couple of months (the collections we see usually hit the stores about a month or two after their debut).

This year we saw some amazing wedding dresses on the runway, and some definite trends emerged. We can thank Meghan Markle for the abundance or boat neck, long sleeve gowns (love those!) and there was a definite nod to the mediterranean with shimmery beadwork and fabrics. The other big trend we saw this year was definitely NOT your grandma’s wedding dress…which we talk about further on this week’s episode.

PLUS, we’re answering listener questions about wedding dresses (like how much you should budget for one) and what you should know before saying “I Do” to the dress of your dreams.
