Reem Acra was discovered by a Fashion Editor in Beirut when she wore a dress she made from her mother’s tablecloth to a party. 10 days later she had her first fashion show, and was soon off to New York City to study at the Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT) and its counterpart in Paris (Esmod). After a brief stint as an Interior Designer, Reem Acra designed her first wedding dress for a society friend.
The dress sparked an international interest in her bridal designs, and led to the launch of Reem Acra Bridal. In addition to being carried by retailers such as Neiman Marcus, Saks Fifth Avenue, and other bridal salons, Reem Acra’s Ready to Wear, Haute Couture, and Bridal Collections are all located within her flagship store in New York City. She is a favorite of celebrities such as Angelina Jolie, Halle Berry, Beyonce Knowles, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Eva Longoria, and Taylor Swift among others.
