Pronovias is a family-owned design firm founded by Alberto Palatchi Bienveniste. In 1922 their store El Suizo opened in Barcelona, where Bienveniste sold high-quality silks and beautiful lace embroidery to high-society brides. Their official bridal line was launched in 1964, and Pronovias became internationally known for their high-fashion gowns in 1980, when they opened stores in Germany, France, the UK and Italy. In 2008, the gowns finally came to the US when the brand opened a flagship store in New York City. There are now 163 Pronovias shops across the world in 105 different countries, making them one of the largest names in the bridal space.
