Average Base Cost: $24,000

Our average base cost for a Club at Hillbrook wedding is calculated by figuring a 125-person guest list for a Saturday ceremony/reception using the Sherwin package, plus an estimated $25/pp for BYOB, and $1,500 for the ceremony fee. Entertainment, flowers, furniture, additional decorations and rentals, transportation, and photography are not included. Price is rounded up to the nearest thousand. Gratuity and sales tax is included.

How it breaks down:

Facility Rental Fee: The Club at Hillbrook does not have a facility rental fee, as it is all based on Food and Beverage minimums. They offer several packages ranging from $125 to $185/pp, which include hors d’oeuvres, salad, at least 2 entrees and dessert. These prices also include tax and gratuity.

Important Note: Since this is a private member club you would either have to be sponsored by a member to have your wedding there, or pay a fee of $1,000 (which covers membership dues for a year). The member does not have to attend the function in order to be a sponsor.

Extras: There is a ceremony fee of $1,500 (which includes ceremony chairs and rehearsal). However, that fee is waived if opting for the Burke Wedding Package.

Add Ons:

Any items on the menu can be added to any package for an upgraded cost. Price determined based on item selected. Items will be listed as an “add-on” on your proposal and all additional items not included in the package will be subject to a 23.5% service charge and applicable sales tax.

Food Tasting:

A food tasting will be done approximately 6 months prior to the wedding date and will include salads, 5 entrée selections, 5 starch options, and vegetables. Tasting can include Bride and Groom plus 4 other guests. Vegetarian and Children options available upon request.

How Will Grandma Get There? Ideally Grandma could stay on property. As listed above, a complimentary suite is provided for the bride and groom, and 6 additional suites are available for a total price $1,400. All suites are complimentary with the Burke package.

For those not staying on property, the Club at Hillbrook is about 15 minutes away from Beachwood (Hotel Indigo) and 30 minutes from downtown Cleveland (The Ritz Carlton Cleveland).

Party On! Events can go for 6 hours. The music must stop at midnight (unless otherwise arranged with the Club).

The Report: 

 Located in Russell Township, the Club at Hillbrook is a private members club. Originally built by Edmund S. Burke, Jr. (former chairman of the Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland and founder of the firms that later became Bethlehem Steel) circa 1919, the once 40-room Tudor Style mansion was designed after a home Burke visited in Ashford, Kent, England, which was originally built in 1472.  After Burke sold Hillbrook to Paul R. Johnston in 1946 it was later converted into a club in 1952.

 

Woman Getting Married Says:

If you had an uncle who had an amazingly quaint mansion (yes, they can be quaint) and a lush garden in England, but he somehow relocated it to Cleveland for your wedding…this would be it! While some of the reception areas would look gorgeous with an update, the real winner here is their gorgeous outside area and exterior of the Club, which has a rustic yet elegant vintage feel. While there were some negative reviews for their previous wedding planner, the new one gets rave reviews. Being able to BYOB is fantastic, and the membership fee is reasonable considering there is no rental fee (aside from the ceremony charge). It’s definitely worth checking out.
