Bridal Fashion Week is currently wrapping up in New York City after an amazing few days of runway shows, and as usual we leave each season thinking it’s more beautiful than the last! We can’t wait to share all the looks with you!
One of our favorite shows of the week had to be Reem Acra’s. Aside from the insanely gorgeous collection of wedding dresses, we were truly inspired by the amazingly romantic hairstyles we saw coming down the runway. The opposite of fussy, the bridal hair was romantic, unexpected, and felt completely of the moment.
Want to replicate this bridal hairstyle for your wedding or even your bridal shower or bachelorette party? We got the scoop on how to recreate it from lead stylist Brian Buenaventura and the pros at René Furterer, who helped style this look. The inspiration? “A cooler take on modern royalty with lived in hair that has the day after feel.” More on how they did it, below.
Overall hair texture: Undone, dry romantic wave
Products used: René Furterer‘s Volumea Volumizing Foam, Style Vegetal Texture Spray, and Style Vegetale Finishing Spray
Step 1: Blow dry using the Volumea Volumizing Foam to add body and bounce.
Step 2: Using the crown as a guide, create two cornrows on the top of the head, leaving approximately 1”- 1 ½” between each braid. Braids should be approximately 2” from the hairline and 2” in length.
Step 3: Create a natural texture using a 1” or 1 ¼” curling iron creating an “S” wave by taking vertical sections. After waving, spray each section with Style Vegetal Texture Spray for added texture, volume and shine.
Step 4: Sweep up side sections to the apex and loop the hair through the crown. Secure the crown to the braids
Step 5: Using 4 bobby pins (2 on each side) in a crisscross fashion, lock them on themselves on the inside of the crown. Some hair should be left out of the front and sides
Step 6: Finish with Style Vegetale Finishing Spray for a soft, natural-looking finish.
