If you thought it would be impossibly expensive to spend your honeymoon where Prince Harry and Meghan Markle spent theirs–think again!
According to TMZ, the royal couple is rumored to be heading to the Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge in Alberta, CA, where they’ll be staying in the 6,000 sq. ft. Outlook Cabin…aka “The Royal Retreat.” The cabin hosted Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip in 2005, though its’ history with the royals goes back long before that. The Outlook Cabin, originally built in 1930, once hosted Harry’s great grandparents in 1939. However, a fire destroyed the original building in 2000, and it has since been recreated as an exact copy of the original structure. It boasts 6 bedrooms, an enclosed conservatory and veranda, private parking, two fireplaces, a large terrace with a barbecue, and a full kitchen with a private catering entrance, perfect for those intimate dinners for two.
The Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge is located next to Lake Beauvert, and features 440 rooms on 700-acres. It’s home to one of Canada’s Top 10 golf courses and an amazing spa that just recently completed a $7 million makeover.
If this is in fact where Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are spending their honeymoon (the hotel has denied it, but that MIGHT be protocol), when they’re not relaxing they can do everything from hiking, horseback riding, canoeing, and mountain biking.
While the Outlook Cabin could be slightly out of your budget (the hotel’s signature cabins range from $2,000-$8,000+/night), you can get a gorgeous “Fairmont” room with lake views and a patio for less than $400/night.
