All The Details on Emily Ratajkowski’s Massive Engagement Ring

Emily Ratajkowski may have gotten married more than five months ago, but she just debuted her engagement ring on Instagram. The model’s now-husband, Sebastian Bear-McClaird, initially proposed with a paper clip — but it’s safe to say the ring she has now is an upgrade.

The gold band with both a pear and square cut diamond makes for a unique stunner. In an interview with Vogue, Ratajkowski revealed that she herself designed the engagement ring.

“We liked the idea of two stones instead of one and spent a long time looking at rings with multiple stones for inspiration,” said Ratajkowski. “At one point it included a ruby as the second stone, [but] ultimately we loved the idea of the femininity of the pear contrasted with the architecture of the princess.”

The design process wasn’t easy, though. Ratajkowski admitted that she and her husband — who provided his assistance — went through more than 50 sketches.

“Sebastian has been developing a movie, Uncut Gems, starring Adam Sandler, that centers around the diamond district, so he has a pretty amazing knowledge of stones and the industry,” Ratajkowski said.

She also enlisted the help of her friend Alison Chemla, A.K.A. the designer behind Alison Lou.

“We wanted the stones to be the main attraction, so we went for the lowest possible setting in white gold and yellow gold band to match my wedding band,” Ratajkowski said. “They did an amazing job.”

I’ll say so!
