Since you’re starting the American Dream with your spouse, we thought we’d take this opportunity to bring to you some tried and true (and some brand new) American-made essentials. Sure, you can go after that French china or Italian espresso maker, and we’re not judging if you do! But we have to admit, this list of high-quality products has us re-thinking the importance of importing. Here are 10 of our favorite wedding registry items that not only check things off your registry list, they are made right in your red-white-and-blue backyard.

For the Kitchen:

KitchenAid (Greenville, Ohio)

Did you know the KitchenAid stand mixer has been around for nearly 100 years? There’s a reason this tried-and-true kitchen essential lives in millions of American homes. With different models to choose from based on your cooking needs (that come in a rainbow of color options) – we’re sure there’s a fit that’s perfect for your home. Add to Your Wedding Registry

For the Dining Room:

Fiestaware (Newell, West Virginia)

If you’re envisioning colorful everyday place settings for those awesome meals you’ll be cooking with your spouse, look no further than Fiestaware. This American-born brand is super versatile with a mix-and-match mantra perfect for the colorful cook. Plus, the place settings are super affordable ($27.99 for a 4-piece setting), making this one of our favorite wedding registry items. Add to Your Wedding Registry

For the Living Room:

Amana (Amana, Iowa)

Though the company’s textile operation can be tracked back to Germany some 300 years ago, Amana embodies the heritage of America, and Amana, Iowa. The company’s textiles are still woven in the same building used for more than 160 years. We love the story, but the best part is their quality products. And this oversized throw? We’ll take ten. For Your Entertainment System:

U-Turn Audio (Woburn, Massachusetts)

It’s always romantic to dance to your wedding song from time-to-time, and it’s even more fun to play it on a turntable. We love the brightly colored hues in red, blue and green, and we also love the price ($179).  Add to Your Wedding Registry

For the Bedroom:

Authenticity 50

American made sheets that are as soft as they are domestically friendly? We’re in! Each and every part of the manufacturing process – from growing the cotton (in California) to weaving the fabric (in the Carolinas) is done here in the U.S. And, it’s all done at a super affordable price ($120 for a King sheet set). For the Pantry:

Nordic Ware (Minneapolis, Minnesota)

You’ll need some withstanding cookware for all those batters you’re whipping up with your new KitchenAid mixer, and it’s hard to beat Nordic Ware. The all-American brand is still family owned and operated by three generations and churning out quality cookware that’s as durable as it is eye-friendly. They’re famous for their Bundt pan, which was introduced to the line in the early 1950’s, and can now be found in over 70 million households around the world. We love the traditional Bundt pan, but are also a fan of their unique Bundt shapes and cakelet plans, too. Delicious. Add to Your Wedding Registry

For the Mudroom:

Picnic at Ascot (Hawthorne, California)

Planning picnics in your future? You’ll need one of these. Picnic at Ascot’s picture-worthy baskets compactly fit all of your edible needs in one ultra-efficient basket. Like this version that includes plates, napkins, wine glasses, flatware, a corkscrew, food cooler, fleece blanket and carrier. And don’t forget the wicker basket, which is a novelty all on its own. Add to Your Wedding Registry

For the Entryway:

Farmhouse Pottery (Woodstock, Vermont)

We love Farmhouse Pottery for its pottery (duh!) like the bowls, pitchers and serveware. But, we’re also kind of in love with their arrangement of housewares – like these milk jug vases. Perfect for displaying those American-born flowers your husband brings home to you all the time (hint, hint). Add to Your Wedding Registry

For the Outdoors:

Shinola (Detroit, Michigan)

Shinola, who prides itself on bringing American manufacturing back home – specifically, to Detroit, is most famous for its affordable leather watches. But we’re a big fan of their bicycles, too, which are assembled in their Detroit bicycle factory after the frame is created in Waterford Wisconsin by Waterford Precision Cycles. Though the price can be steep ($1,000), you can peddle on knowing you’re getting quality that’s made in America. We recommend the Detroit Arrow, Shinola’s single-speed bicycle.
