Average Base Cost: $24,000

Our average base cost for an Evergreen Museum & Library wedding is calculated by figuring a 125-person guest list for a Saturday ceremony/reception using the rental of Upper Garden with Carriage House for Ceremony and/or Cocktail Reception, and a food/beverage cost of $125/pp. Entertainment, flowers, furniture, additional decorations and rentals, transportation, and photography are NOT included. Price is rounded up to the nearest thousand. Gratuity and sales tax is included.

How it breaks down:

Facility Rental Fee: 

The venue offers several options for weddings, listed below. But first, here is how they are laid out:

The Carriage House Tented Patio (rented March-December) can accommodate the following:

  • 400 standing
  • 300 seated in two rooms adjacent to each other without a dance floor
  • 220 seated in two rooms that are adjacent to each other and space for a dance floor
  • 170 seated in one room with the entire adjacent room available for a dance floor

Un-tented Patio (January – February) can accommodate the following:

  • 225 standing
  • 150 seated

The Upper Garden can accommodate the following:

  • 500 standing
  • 400 seated with dance floor
  • Client must arrange for tent, table, and chair rentals

The fees break down as follows:

Rental of Upper Garden with Carriage House for Ceremony and/or Cocktail Reception

Prices for 5 hour rental

  • Saturday: $6,100. Earliest start time 5 p.m.
  • Friday: $5,500. Earliest start time 6pm
  • Sunday: $5,500. Earliest start time 5 p.m.

Rental of North Wing with Carriage House for Ceremony and/or Cocktail Reception

Prices for 5 hour rental

  • Saturday: $6,100. Earliest start time 6:30 p.m.
  • Friday: $5,500. Earliest start time 6:30 p.m.
  • Sunday: $5,500. Earliest start time 6:30 p.m.

Evening Rental of Carriage House Only (4 p.m. – Midnight)

Prices for 4 hour rental

  • Saturday: $5,400
  • Friday: $4,900
  • Sunday: $4,900

 

Extras: Additional hours are $1,000 each. You must also hire a company for parking assistance.

What’s Included: All fees include tables and chairs for up to 220 people

Food and Beverage: You must use one of their 5 exclusive caterers

Other Vendors: Except for catering, other outside vendors are allowed

How Will Grandma Get There? This wedding venue is located only about 4 miles from downtown Baltimore where there are a ton of hotel options, including the Hotel Indigo Downtown Baltimore and The Ivy.

The Report: 

This 19th Century Gilded Age estate is part of the John Hopkins University museums. Originally bought by Baltimore Ohio and Railroad President John W. Garrett, it served as a family home until it was donated to the University in 1952. The house, which sits on 22 acres and often exhibits the work of artists in onsite art installations, was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1983.

You can’t beat the location of this wedding venue, which is perfect for guests traveling in from out of town who want to explore the area and stay downtown. I would definitely want to utilize as much of the gorgeous outdoor space as possible (including the un-tented Carriage House Patio), so a spring or summer wedding would be my first choice here.
