I’m finally back from the holidaze…first Christmas, then New Years. We had some great trips and fun times, and now we’re back in the swing of things. It feels like it’s been forever!
Now that I’m back to posting, I wanted to share this Suzi Chin bridesmaid dress I saw from Nordstrom. I love slightly grey/neutral bridesmaid dresses, because you can liven them up with great accessories and flowers. Aside from a great price, this cut should be versatile enough that your bridesmaids could wear it again.
I’ve finally jumped on the Pinterest bandwagon! It’s so addicting. Use the Pinterest link in the right-hand column to follow me on there, or just click on the photo below. In the past few days I’ve found some great bridesmaids and wedding dresses I love, as well as started an “inspiration” search to find photos and objects that inspire me to create new boards. Where has this been all my life?!

OK Vera Wang. Let’s not get cocky. Not only do you make some of the most gorgeous, expensive wedding dresses around, but now you’ve gone ahead and totally cornered the market on inexpensive dresses, too. Are you happy now??
Well, guess what. I am! Vera Wang’s latest collection for David’s Bridal is just gorgeous. And the prices? Fuggedaboutit. They are amazing. Oh, Vera. I heart you.
Ladies, if you and your bridesmaids are on a budget (and who isn’t), I can’t encourage you enough to go and try on the White by Vera Wang collection at David’s Bridal. I am seriously considering going and buying the bridesmaid dress, below, as an amazing evening gown. And for $168? Vera Wang is KICKING J. Crew’s ass when it comes to affordable bridesmaid and wedding dresses. Watch out!
If you’re a fan of shopping on ShopBop.com, you’re probably aware of their relatively new (they launched in March) online bridal boutique, which compiles wedding-worthy dresses and accessories from various designers. I admit I haven’t spent a lot of time on ShopBop (my online shopping consists of Gilt Groupe or HauteLook or Gap, mostly), so I thought I’d take a peek at what they have to offer. If you’re looking for a “second” wedding dress (are there that many of you gals out there?!), or a beachy/casual wedding dress, there are some decent options. But otherwise, I’m not super excited about their selection. Their bridesmaids dresses would be better if they were less expensive (most of the good ones range from $400-$1,000! I picked out my favorite “cheapies” below). So far my favorite part of the boutique is the accessories. While I hope the wedding dress selection gets better, the great thing about buying online with ShopBop is free shipping and returns. So, at least if your dress doesn’t fit you (or one of your bridesmaids), you won’t be out of luck. Below are my favorite selection’s from ShopBop.com’s Wedding Boutique.
Have you shopped for a wedding dress online? If so, what was your experience?
As a newly engaged writer, I had a hard time finding the practical information I needed to plan my wedding. While the wedding books, magazines, and websites I read had pretty pictures, they seemed to just skim the surface when it came to providing helpful ways for me to create the wedding of my dreams. Now that I'm married, I hope this blog serves as a resource for all you other bride-to-be's, with unique ideas for wedding venues, wedding decorations, wedding dresses, and more!
