Average Base Cost: $23,000

Our average base cost for a Degas House wedding is calculated by figuring a 125-person guest list using the Saturday wedding package and a food/beverage cost of $80/pp. Entertainment, flowers, furniture, additional decorations and rentals, transportation, and photography are NOT included. Price is rounded up to the nearest thousand. Gratuity and sales tax is included.

How it breaks down:

Facility Rental Fee: There are several wedding packages available at Candlelight Farms Inn and the Candelight Hangar. The venue spaces available include the Inn (35 guests) Clubhouse (60 guests), the Lower Barn (80 guests), and the Hangar (350 guests) as well as the lawn space. The details are below:

Sunday Wedding Celebration at Candlelight Farms 

  • Price: $5,500 (plus 15% service charge)
  • Catering and rentals not included
  • For 40-150 guests (*an additional $10 per person will apply for weddings over 100 guests.).

Includes the following:

  • Access to the panoramic grounds for photo opportunities.
  • Onsite and email consultation to discuss the details of your day and how to make it your unique wedding experience. A Candlelight Farms Inn staff member will be onsite on your wedding day.
  • Access to the Candlelight Farms property for your ceremony and reception from 1 p.m. -8 p.m. (additional hours can be arranged). Max to 11 p.m. for cleanup.
  • For those pre-wedding moments, this package allows access to the Inn prior to your ceremony.
  • Use of the “Clubhouse” for cocktail hour or for your vendors to have a place to set up.
  • Use of the newly renovated “Lower Barn,” with seating up to 80 guests* and a dance floor.
  • Saturday rates apply on Holiday Weekends

Saturday Wedding Celebration at Candlelight Farms

  • Price: $8,500 (plus 15% service charge)
  • Catering and rentals not included
  • Up to 300 guests (*an additional $10 per person will apply for weddings over 150 guests.).

Includes the following:

  • Access to the Candlelight Farms property for your ceremony, reception, and other activities, on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. (additional hours can be arranged)
  • Access to the panoramic grounds for photo opportunities
  • Onsite and email consultation to discuss the details of your day and how to make it your unique wedding experience. A Candlelight Farms Inn staff member will be onsite on your wedding day.
  • Use of the “Lower Barn” for cocktail hour or for your vendors to have a place to set up. For smaller weddings, the lower barn can be used for your reception.

Candlelight Dreams Wedding

  • Price: $10,000 (plus 15% service charge)
  • Catering and rentals not included
  • Up to 300 guests (*an additional $10 per person will apply for weddings over 150 guests.).

Includes the following:

  • Access to the Candlelight Farms property for your ceremony, reception, and other activities, from 1 p.m. on Friday afternoon to 11 p.m. on Saturday – additional hours may be reserved for $150 per hour
  • Access to the panoramic grounds for photo opportunities
  • Onsite and email consultation to discuss the details of your day and how to make it your unique wedding experience. A Candlelight Farms Inn staff member will be onsite on your wedding day.
  • Use of the “Lower Barn” and “Clubhouse” for your rehearsal, pre-wedding party, and reception
  • Use of Lower Barn/Clubhouse for Friday night rehearsal
  • Five overnight rooms in the “Inn,” on Friday, max double occupancy. Checkout is 4:00 p.m. Saturday. Personal items can be left in common rooms until 5:30 p.m. Saturday.
  • Breakfast served in the “Inn” dining room for overnight guests on Saturday morning
  • Use of the “Clubhouse” for cocktail hour or for your vendors to have a place to set up.

 

Candlelight Exclusive Wedding Weekend

  • Price: $15,000 (plus 10% service charge)
  • Catering and rentals not included
  • Up to 350 guests (*an additional $10 per person will apply for weddings over 175 guests.).
  • Add Airport Hangar venue: $4,000 additional

Includes the following:

  • Access to the Candlelight Farms property for your ceremony, reception, and other activities, from 1 p.m. on Friday afternoon to 12 pm on Sunday afternoon
  • Access to the panoramic grounds for photo opportunities all weekend
  • Onsite and email consultation to discuss the details of your day and how to make it your unique wedding experience. A Candlelight Farms Inn staff member will be onsite on your wedding day.
  • Access to 5 rooms in the Inn on Friday and Sat night, double occupancy
  • Use of the “Lower Barn” or “Clubhouse” for your rehearsal or pre-wedding party
  • Five overnight rooms in the “Inn,” both Friday and Saturday, max double occupancy
  • Additional guests may camp out on the property under the stars
  • Breakfast served in the “Inn” dining room for overnight guests on Saturday morning
  • Use of the “Clubhouse” for cocktail hour or for your vendors to have a place to set up.
  • A unique set up for your wedding, including a canoe to keep your craft beers and sodas iced, hay bales for outdoor seating, John Deere tractors and horses from Candlelight Farms stables for photo opportunities, and customized white birch centerpieces and arbors.
  • Continue your party after the reception around a fire pit overlooking the mountain.
  • Use of the Candlelight Farms property for a farewell brunch for you and your guests on Sunday morning (service provided by your caterer. please arrange in advance)
  • This package includes access to the pond for fishing and canoeing, the property for tents and camping, complete set up for your rehearsal dinner. No other events are scheduled until Sunday afternoon.
  • Eight (8) Farms tables included and 10 hay bales.

Airport Venue (“The Hangar”) 

  • Price: $7,500 (plus 15% service charge)
  • Catering and rentals not included
  • Up to 350 guests (*an additional $10 per person will apply for weddings over 140 guests.).
  • Available Fridays, Sundays, and select Saturdays in 2017
  • The Hangar is located next to the 26 acre private pond and along the prop plane airport
  • Bathroom trailer must be rented
  • Available 11:00 a.m.-11:00 p.m. for rented date(s)
  • Includes: Ceremony Site, Farm Tables, Bar

Note: A tent and restrooms may need to be rented for weddings above 80 guests with all packages

More Stats:

Space Type: Inside/Outside. The only truly inside spaces are the Inn, Clubhouse, and Lower Barn, as the Hangar is covered but is open on the sides.

Size: Up to 400 guests depending on the package you choose

Bridal Suite: The bridal party has access to the Inn for dressing, hair and makeup the morning of the wedding. The gents can do their finishing touches in one of the barns.

Parking: Yes. There are 300 spaces available

How Will Grandma Get There? Ideally Grandma would stay in one of the 5 Inn rooms available depending on your package (or rented a la carte). Otherwise guests can stay nearby at hotels such as the Mayflower Inn (5-star) or the Homestead Inn (3-star), both of which are located 14 miles and 5 miles away, respectively. Note that at the Inn there are no other meals served for guests staying there aside from breakfast. The venue is located 1 1/2 hours from Bradley International Airport.

Candlelight Farms Inn is a B&B set in an 1843 farmhouse on over 600 acres on Candlewood Mountain, featuring a pond and barn as well as activities such as canoeing and horseback riding.

Woman Getting Married Says:

This property is gorgeous and most couples who visit it tend to book it as soon as they do! Brides that have gotten married here rave about the owners, and say that their response time and help planning is priceless. While you do have flexibility in terms of vendors you can bring in as well as the additional decor the venue lets you use (a big added bonus according to brides), the rental fees are on the higher side. Because of this I would opt for a smaller guest list (under 80) so you can skip the additional cost of the tent to help keep everything in budget.
