Bandanas aren’t just for Bret Michaels anymore. They actually double as super cute and cheap wedding napkins!
I was on a 2-month hunt for vintage-y napkins for my wedding that didn’t cost an arm and a leg (when you need 125 napkins it adds up). I think they’re a great way to add a pop of color to your table if you’re not using any kind of tablecloth (I had farm tables with a lace runner, so I needed something). It never even occurred to me that I could find the pattern/color I was looking for if instead of searching Google for patterned napkins, I started looking for bandanas. Duh. They come in the same size and fabric as regular dinner napkins, but seem to be half the price.
I found an online retailer that sells bandanas by the dozen in pretty much any color/pattern you can imagine. They seem to be the cheapest (I haven’t actually ordered from them, FYI) at $20/dozen. Click here to view their site. At those prices it’s almost the same than renting them (napkins usually rent for $1/napkin). After the wedding you can have them cleaned and you can keep them as a keepsake and give some to family/friends.
You can run the bandana theme through your wedding in several ways: You can wrap your favors in them, send out save the dates with them, or have them initialed with each guest’s name for a fun favor idea. Bandanaman.com offers personalized options for favors and save-the-dates, or for a really elegant/vintage option, check out Lucky Luxe’s handkerchief wedding invitations ($766 for 75). While they offer handkerchiefs, you might be able to send in a bandana for the same effect. (If you send in your own, the price drops down to $607 for 75.)
