About:
Lela Rose, a Texas native, graduated from the Parsons School of Design in New York City, and later worked as a Design Assistant and Buyer for Richard Tyler. She launched her signature collection, Lela Rose, in 1998, and in 2006 she created the Lela Rose Wedding Collection. She also makes bridesmaid dresses for The Dessy Group, shoes for Payless, and an adorable Resort and Ready to Wear collection (you can find them on her website). Lela Rose says her design philosophy is simple: “It’s about creating beautiful, hand-finished clothes that exude a casual luxury and refinement.”

Her dresses run the gamut from relaxed and simple, short and savvy, to whimsical and romantic, which is what makes her a great designer. I love the little details on her gowns…it’s not about beading or sashes, not those kind of details. It’s a twist of fabric or an off-the-shoulder tulle that I love the most.
