Aah, summer. From farmers market berries to warm, music-filled nights, it’s the best time of year to gather all your friends and throw a party. And there’s no better party than a wedding!
I might be biased because I’m from Miami, but one of my favorite wedding venues for summer is the beach. There is something about being close to the water which is a recipe for an amazing time. And if you’re landlocked? No problem! You don’t have to get married on the sand to take advantage of all the fun design elements the ocean inspires. Beach ball colors such as blue, red, and green can be used on your wedding tables with napkins and tablecloths, and everything from anchors to crabs can add a bit of nautical whimsy to your wedding celebration.
Wedding favors are the perfect opportunity to show off a summer-centric wedding theme, which is what inspired this shoot, below. I recently had fun combining some of my favorite summer treats that could easily be used as inexpensive and unique wedding favors that guests will love all season long (and them some). Check out our ideas, below!
Warmer weather means bottled refreshments — such as these iconic eight-ounce glass Share a Coke bottles that you can personalize with fun taglines like “Best Night Ever” or “We Heart You” at Share a Coke’s website— which can be given out at the beginning or end of the night as unique wedding favors. They can even be used as double-duty place cards when you customize one with each guest’s name. To create your own click here.
I also love the idea of giving a refreshment and a personal bottle opener with a nautical touch (such as this Kate Aspen anchor opener).
Summer wouldn’t be summer without a Koozie, which you can personalize for your guests with your wedding logo or opt for a more neutral nautical logo. Click here for a similar option.
Wedding cake is great, but why not treat guests to their own personal cupcakes on a mini cake stand that they can take home? We love this star-spangled version from Fish’s Eddy for West Elm, which you can top with a cupcake from your favorite local bakery (these are from Santa Monica’s Sweet Lady Jane).
Decorate your tables with freshly potted flowers or herbs (such as oregano, which we used here) with a DIY thank-you label that guests can take home and plant in their own garden or container. You can find an assortment of ‘Thank-You’ and other printables here, and pots of herbs at your local farmer’s market or garden center.
